28 new hotels are to be opened in Moscow by the end of this year and 8 of them have been already opened. Grigory Antufeyev, the Chairman of the Moscow Committee for Tourism, says that "now in Moscow there are more than 6,000 restaurants, bars and cafes. The renowned chefs from London, Paris, Berlin and other capital cities of the world work in them. It makes no secret that the quality of services in Moscow hotels is higher than in Europe."
According to Antyufeyev, the Moscow Government is also planning to increase the number of hotels by 2.5 and to bring their number up to 500 with 186 000 rooms by 2010. As Antyufeyev reports, the pricing would be targeted to satisfy people with different income, starting from 1500 or 2000 rubles per room and up to several thousand dollars.
