According to the Moscow Prosecutor's Office, Labour and Immigration Law violations have been revealed in the construction site inspection of the Ukraine Hotel, conducted in the course of enforcing applicable provisions of law.
The inspection has found that immigrant workers involved in reconstruction did not have work permits. The construction permits for specific types of reconstruction work were not provided. The scaffolds at the site were not equipped with guardrails; the switchboards and the knife-switches did not have padlocks.
Considering the inspection results, the Prosecutor's office has launched 2 administrative investigations pursuant to Article 5.27, part 1 (failure to comply with labour and safety labour legislation) of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation. AS per the investigation results, the Hotel Ukraine Company and its General Director were held liable and fines in the amount of 30,000 rubles and 5,000 rubles, respectively, were imposed for these offenses on them.
Furthermore, the Prosecutor has issued a notice of violation to the Hotel General Director, and Labour Safety Engineer has been disciplined.
