Historical hotels to appear in Moscow
For the first time the experience of Spanish " paradors", French and Scottish castle hotels, is being applied on Russian soil. The Moscow Istitute of Ecology has designed historical inns to be built within the currently reconstructed estate compounds of " Medvedkovo" and " Vinogradovo". As part of Moscow North-East tourist-recreational zone development program, the pilot planning projects on reconstruction and restoring of "Medvedkovo" and "Vinogradovo" estates are now entering the comletion phase.
As the main functional component for estate compounds, located within the city, the Institute of Ecology suggests creating hotel-business activity centres which would be cultural centres at the same time. The dilapidated manorhouse in the territory of the former "Medvedkovo" estate, is supposed to be restored and turned into a hotel. The 4-stars European pricing level of the newly built hotel will make a stay in it affordable to both Russian and foreign guests.
One of the reconstructed manor buildings in "Vinogradovo" is going to function as " Russian manor" cultural centre, where visitors can also rent a room. The "5-star plus" hotel will bear such features of a spanish "parador" as a network of picturesque ancient manors and castles, convereted into hotels which preserve the historical style of their interiors and landscapes. All the authentic russian manor household living conditions will be recreated in " Vinogradovo", so it will be a historical hotel for those, who seek to plunge into a Russian manor way of living, rather than to simply stay at a utility hotel for a business trip. The visitors of "Russian Manor" will live in recreated 19th century interiors, will be served Russian quisine meals and will have the opportunity to enjoy Russian folklore. There is a reason for adding this function to "Vinogradovo" compond. The fact is the 195 acres of surrounding territories still carry the historical park that awaits landscape designing, a woodland and a system of ponds.
While designing tourist-recreational zone projects, The City Institute of Ecology has conducted a thorough research on historical hotels and came to the conclusion that no hotel complex carrying this kind of cultural value has ever operated in Russia. The valuable experience of Spanish " paradors", French and Scottish castle hotels is going to be used in Russia for the first time.
