Moscow faces the lack of space for hotels' construction
The Head of Rosturizm Vladimir Strzhalkovskiy informed, that the number of builders in Moscow, willing to construct a hotel, is much higher than the number of building sites.
«Just five years ago we could hardly dream about such a situation, - said Strgalkovskiy. - Earlier the investors invested their money only into the construction of accommodation and business-centers, which could give fast repayment. Now, when profitability of this sector fell down, they've come to realize that income, gained from hotels construction, is stable, though isn't high».
Strzhalkovskiy drew everybody's attention to one more positive issue concerning hotel market of Russia -- appearance of local management companies. On his opinion, during last 2-3 years not only international management hotels companies have been working actively in Russia, but also the local ones. «Our companies charge much less for the management. As a rule, it includes some constant amount plus percent of turnover», - said the CEO of Rosturizm.
Strgalkovskiy believes that in the nearest future the Russian companies will be able to compete on equal terms with such management companies as are ?ccor and Sofitel.
According to him, it is very important that «many Russian hotels move away from "domestic" way of management, the independent one, and more and more often resort to the services of professional managers, that means that the level of hotel service in the country will rise steadily».
«The only thing we need to achieve is to reduce the term of making approvals before beginning the construction», - stressed Strzhalkovskiy.
At the moment different approvals take at least 2 years.
