The Moscow mass hotel building plan still can’t succeed. During the first nine months of this year only six hotels were opened in the capital city.

The lack of hotel rooms has elevated prices for the hotel stay. In September the three stars hotel room costs on average $185 per night, the four and five stars rooms cost about $340 per night.
Nevertheless, in May the Moscow city government has approved the general plan of new hotels construction in the city, according to which 353 new hotels with 118 thousand places are to be built during the next four years. According to the city council announcement in March, it was planned to build a hotel per fortnight in 2007 and to construct about a hundred more during 2008.
