Collapse of the Hotel Element
One of the towers of hotel “Ukraine” fell down on Sunday, the 18th November. The collapse occurred in the morning: the notification about the fallen decorative tower was delivered to the emergency situations board at about 11 a.m.
The collapsed element fell into the building, fortunately no one was injured. The reasons for this collapse are now being defined; previously it is supposed that this happened because of the old building structure. According to the representative of emergency situations ministry, there is no danger of the further collapse.
Our Note:
Hotel “Ukraine” – one of the 7 famous Stalin high houses and is now the tallest hotel building in Moscow: it is 170 meters high. The building is the architectural monument and is now being reconstructed.
